Support for children and young people at risk

Due to the violent unrest in the DR Congo, many people are forced to flee. The displaced families often flee to larger urban regions in the south of Congo, such as Lubumbashi, and suffer from hunger because they cannot feed themselves from their fields or buy basic necessities at the local markets.
Children are separated from their families. Severe poverty, insecurity, a lack of basic social services and sexualized violence have a huge impact on the development of these children.

In Lubumbashi, children and young people are reintegrated into their own or a foster family. Their school attendance is also financed.

Young people in school lessons in Lubumbashi

In Lubumbashi, children and young people are reintegrated into their own or a foster family. Their school attendance is also financed.

Reintegrating them into families and financing their school attendance helps them in the long term and enables them to create a better future for themselves.

This project is co-financed by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation SDC, Federal Department of Foreign Affairs FDFA, through a program contribution
