The film festival Bajo Nuestra Piel creates space for joint reflection on human rights. It brings people together and provides impetus for a society free from violence and exclusion.
In Bolivia, indigenous communities, women, the LGBTIQ community, people with disabilities and people who publicly campaign for human rights are particularly frequently affected by violence and discrimination.
Through film screenings, workshops and discussions Bajo Nuestra Piel the exchange between different social groups.
For around 10,000 people Bajo Nuestra Piel Spaces for dialog about human rights in Bolivia. Films are selected in such a way that they sharpen the focus on local challenges. The screenings in six departments of the country will also reach many rural areas whose inhabitants otherwise have limited access to cultural offerings.
Government agencies should also be involved. After all, they play a key role in ensuring that human rights are respected. This year, the festival will also make stops in 40 barracks and contribute to raising awareness among soldiers and managers with screenings and discussions.
